After reading Learning Activity 3: The Mythology and picking your Greek god/goddess for this assessment, you will compile intensive research on your Greek deity. While compiling researching, you should have at least 5 reputable sources used to learn information on your god/goddess.

After compiling intensive research, you will create a FlipSnack scrapbook in which you tell me all about your Greek Mythology character. You will submit the link to your scrapbook in the comments section on this page.

Your scrapbook should include:

  1. Title Page with your name, our course, and the date.
  2. Your god/goddess Greek name (and Roman name if possible).
  3. Who their parents where and what they are the god/goddess of.
  4. At least 5 images throughout the scrapbook of your god/goddess.
  5. 3 mythological stories they are well known for.
  6. 3 ways their legacy still lives today. (Choose three topics from this list and show how these characters are still represented in society today.)
    1. Music
    2. Movies
    3. Art
    4. Literature
    5. Disney
    6. City Names
    7. Video Games
    8. Food or Drink Products
  7. Explain how Greek Mythology can still impact us today based on your research for number 6.
  8. APA 6th Edition citations for all research presented on the last pages of your scrapbook.
  9. 3 additional facts that you found interesting about your god/goddess—extra credit up to 9 points (you get 3 points per additional fact).

In addition, please refer to the rubric for additional information on how this assessment of your understanding of Greek Mythology will be scored. These projects will be shared with the class following the completion and you will be expected to view all of your classmates posts and respond to 5 classmates giving them feedback on what you liked about their scrapbook and what you found interesting about their god/goddess.

Here is an example of an A assignment. Points would have been taken off for having 3 sources that were not reputable, but with the extra credit the points were earned back.

We will continue to refer back to this assessment throughout the year as we delve into Greek Mythology allusions used throughout various texts. For this reason, you need to make sure that your work is done in it's entirety. This will not only benefit your grade, but will help your classmates learn more to help better prepare them for texts we read in the future.

If you are having trouble using the FlipSnack, please refer to the FlipSnack Help DeskLinks to an external site.. As always, if you still have any questions please email me at Alivia.barrier@my.lr.edu

Feedback for this summative assessment will be in the form of an EdPuzzle link sent directly to you on Canvas. This EdPuzzle will require you to watch a screen-cast of me walking through your Mythology Scrapbook and our Rubric for this assignment. At the end of the EdPuzzle you will respond with any questions, concerns, or a simple thank you. This will allow me to mark "complete" for watching your feedback video.
